Built to Last
At Good Threads we make the finest needlepoint belts available. We use expensive full grain Italian leather, Zweigart Royal Mono Canvas and DMC thread to craft our needlepoint belts. We stand behind the quality of our belts and put a 5 year warranty on all of them. If they fall apart within 5 years we will send you another free of charge.
By having our own in-house stitching force and accepting lower margins we are able to provide a better price than our competitors without compromising on quality or the pay of our stitchers.
Custom Needlepoint Belts
Good Threads makes custom needlepoint belts or life needlepoint belts as some call them. Our turnaround times(6-10 weeks), prices($225.00 for a life belt) and quality are the best in the industry.
You send us the background color and images you want on the custom belt and we will get you a digital mockup for approval before we begin stitching. We offer
discount pricing on orders of more than 1 custom belt and offer wholesale and
private label custom needlepoint production as well.
Look Good and Do Better
All of our needlepoint products are hand stitched in Haiti by our stitchers who are paid well above market rate for their labor. 5-10% of revenue is donated to the Joan Rose Foundation to feed and pay private school tuition for impoverished children.
By accepting slimmer margins and having our own stitching force we are able to offer better prices than our competition without compromising quality.
We have been making needlepoint products since 2013 and the quality of the leather and stitching in our needlepoint products matches or beats that of all of our competitors. We are the only needlepoint company that runs its own stitching workforce, all of the other Needlepoint companies contract companies in Vietnam or China to do their production.
Our Founder David Palmer still gives out work and takes in work from the stitchers and personally knows hundreds of them. If you are looking to buy a finished needlepoint product, be it a custom belt or stock design Good Threads Needlepoint is the clear choice.

FAQ
Q What makes these belts different from others?
A: Quality-wise our belts are a bit sturdier but otherwise very similar to those of Smathers and Branson. What separates us is we offer better prices, our needlepoint stitchers are paid more than their stitchers and we give a significant percentage of revenue to charity.
Q Do Sizes Run True?
Yes our sizes run true. We measure from the point the leather meets the buckle to the middle of the tongue. When in doubt we recommend going with the bigger size.
Q Does my purchase make an impact?
Yes. Every purchase helps support artisan communities by creating sustainable employment opportunities and preserving traditional craftsmanship for future generations.
Q Are the belts durable for everyday use?
Absolutely, our belts are built to last and can be worn everyday for years without falling apart or getting ratty looking
Q Do these needlepoint belts come with a warranty?
Yes, we stand behind our needlepoint belts and give all a 5 year warranty. If they fall apart within 5 years we will send you another free of charge
Q How are the belts made?
Each needlepoint belt is hand stitched by our artisans in Haiti. That piece of stitching is then attached to high end Italian leather and a brass buckle.
Q What if I need to return the product?
We offer free full refunds for all products if they are returned within 30 days.
Q Does My Purchase Make An Impact ?
Every belt purchase feeds a child at the JRF for almost 2 weeks and provides a well paying job to one of our talented needlepoint stitchers
Our Story
Good Threads was founded by David Palmer in 2013 along with his brother Timmy Palmer. David had founded a non profit, the Joan Rose Foundation, to provide impoverished children with the chance to succeed. He quickly realized that if he wanted to help the children longterm he needed to stabilize their household and to do that he needed to employ their mothers. He heard about needlepoint belts and realized they were something the parents could make and Good Threads was born.
Today Good Threads employs over 1000 people in Greater Jacmel and donates 5-10% of revenue annually to the Joan Rose Foundation, equating to hundreds of thousands of dollars over the last few years. David still lives in Haiti, takes in work from the stitchers and knows most personally.
THE JOAN ROSE FOUNDATION
The Joan Rose Foundation was founded in Esperanza, Dominican Republic by David Palmer in 2010. In 2015 David and the core Joan Rose Foundation families moved to Jacmel, Haiti. Today the Joan Rose Foundation feeds about 650 children Lunch, Mon-Sat, pays private school tuition for over 200 children and runs an after-school tutoring/extracurricular program. The Joan Rose Foundation also runs a boxing program for Haitian youth,
Good Threads employs most of the parents of the children at the JRF and Good Threads donations to the JRF account for more than 20% of the Joan Rose Foundation’s annual budget.
